Hunting and Fishing

Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission

The Pinellas County Tax Collector acts as an agent of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission for the sale of hunting licenses, fresh and salt-water fishing licenses, waterfowl stamps, and game management permits.

Visit the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWCC) or call 1-888-347-4356 to purchase a hunting & fishing license.

Important information about hunting and fishing permits:

  • Popular licenses may be obtained from subagents, such as sport stores, bait and tackle shops and some department stores.
  • Most licenses are annual and expire 12 months from the issue date.
  • Anyone born on or after June 1, 1975, must have passed an approved hunter education course before he can be licensed to take wildlife in Florida.
  • An application for a disability fishing license may be obtained from your local Tax Collector office and must be mailed to Tallahassee.
