2010 Tourist Development Tax Amnesty, July 1 - September 30 for taxes due before July 1

Businesses and individuals may pay taxes and interest owed to the Pinellas County Tax collector without penalty and at discounted interest under a Tax Amnesty Program that is in effect from July 1 through September 30, 2010. The amnesty program applies only to the Tourist Development Tax administered by the Pinellas County Tax Collector. Amnesty is available for eligible taxpayers who owe taxes, interest and/or penalties that were due before July 1, 2010.

 

If you wish to participate in the amnesty program you must submit a completed Tax Amnesty Agreement, monthly tax returns or a monthly breakdown of the rentals claimed under amnesty, along with your payment made payable to Diane Nelson, Pinellas County Tax Collector. 

 

The Tax Amnesty Agreement and  tax returns must be filed, and all payments must be remitted before midnight on September 30, 2010. If you cannot pay the tax before September 30, 2010, you may enter into a time payment plan to make installment payments. You must pay no less than 12.5% of the amount due under amnesty and pay the remaining balance in 7 or fewer monthly installments. Interest will continue to accrue during the term of the agreement. If you fail to meet the agreement requirements, the agreement will be voided and you will owe the amount due plus penalties and interest.
