The Pinellas County Tax Collector acts as an agent of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission for the sale of hunting licenses, fresh and salt-water fishing licenses, waterfowl stamps, and game management permits.

Important information about Hunting and Fishing Permits:

  • Popular licenses may be obtained from subagents, such as sport stores, bait and tackle shops and some department stores.
  • Most licenses are annual and expire 12 months from the issue date.
  • Lifetime and Senior citizen fishing licenses are only available through the Tax Collector's Office.
  • Military Gold Sportsman Licenses are only available to active-duty and retired military Florida residents at Tax Collector’s Offices.
  • Anyone born on or after June 1, 1975, must have passed an approved hunter education course before they can be licensed to take wildlife in Florida.
  • An application for a disability fishing license may be obtained from your local Tax Collector’s Office and must be mailed to Tallahassee for issuance.
